I have started to get behind in this course lately, although I'm not too worried I know I have a great deal of work to do starting this week. After doing poorly on the last two quizes I forced myself to start going through the past couple of weeks in lecture. With all of my assignments that I have due next week I have gotten myself into a bit of trouble due to my lack of time, but I have quite a while before the final.

So far the only difficult thing in this course has been the memorization of proper structure for each proof. It seems that anytime I have had any difficulty with the questions given I always seem to lose points on my structure, something I will be going over a great deal for the final. I also have been pretty lazy with the slogs, I hope to have two more by the end of classes in an effort to save whatever is left of my grade for this part of the course.

Test this week! I'm counting on doing well on this test after the last assignment was a bit of a debacle. Even though I'm sure I could have done well on it I have a bad feeling that I may have messed it up due to my extreme procrastination towards it. With that said I still feel confident going into this test as I did very well on the first and this one will most likely be my test worth 6%, not to mention the fact I've been doing pretty well on quizes. In fact, the tutorials have been pretty helpful I find, they have always seemed to help me clear things up any time I was having issues. I would actually prefer to have tutorials the week of tests because I think they could actually help a lot.

The past couple of weeks have gotten me a little bit off track, as you could see with the lack of posts. Getting grades back for the test was a huge relief, I was able to do much better than I had previously expected. Now that the next test is on its way up however, my spirits have sunk a little bit again. Although I have been definitely improving with solving proofs I have been unable to get a strong grasp on them. Another problem I seem to have is structuring them properly. Every time I seem to have some slight problem with the structuring. Before the test I will definitely have to sit down and just do a lot of proofs to make sure I can prepare myself properly. Until then I still have to do some work on the assignment due this week. Although I don't think it will be too difficult it will be time consuming and I will have to double check my work this time as there were many stupid mistakes on my last one that brought down my grade a good deal. After all of this I should have a great deal to talk about for my next blog.

As we get deeper into the proofs I have been able to get a better handle on how to do them. Currently my biggest issue has just been figuring out what direction to go with it, but once I get that it seems to be a breeze. Now on to the test, although the test was in no way what I expected, I think I was able to do pretty well on it. While studying I felt as if I had a really good grip on the material doing practice problems and what not, however, once I looked at the test it seemed a bit more of a challenge than expected. After looking at the solutions to the test, though, I gained a bit more confidence in my work. Now that there have been a couple big grades I am interested to see how I have done in order to get a better idea as to where I stand, other than the quizes. Until then I will enjoy my break from studying until the next clump of grades.

The past month has been filled with small struggles every week in an attempt to get a good grasp on the concepts taught. Thankfully, however, it has seemed that at the end of every week I have been able to get past these issues and do well enough to be able to say I have a pretty good understanding of what we have been taught so far. Now it seems that the challenge has become a little bit more difficult as we delve into full proofs. So far I have been able to do as well as I have in the course due to tutorials and practice problems, but now, with the new material, it feels like its going to take more than that in order to succeed. Hopefully I will be able to get a grasp on everything before the test as I wish to do well on it. Once I get past this week I'm sure once this week is over I will have much more confidence in my abilities to write proofs, but until then it seems I have a lot of work ahead of me.
